The industrial heritage of Greece, in the beating heart of Hermoupolis.
From tanning and printing to loukoumi artisanship and the technical conquest of the sea, this museum is housed in four different historical buildings that offer its visitors a journey into the past of an island that shaped the present of a country.

Only a handful of places around the world can boast an industrial heritage as rich and influential as that which has left its mark on every corner of Hermoupolis to this day.
In this exact place and time, something truly unique took place. Only in 19th-century Syros did the conditions and circumstances align in such a perfect way that allowed for the first significant development of industry in Greece_an “industrial revolution” that, in turn, gave birth to a fascinating modern bourgeoisie which shaped the neoclassical character of a new, magical city.
